Early Steps Evaluation

Luke had his developmental assessment at Early Steps today, and things went about how his Momma thought they would: Luke is a handsome, independent little man, who has advanced motor skills and needs some extra help with communication.

The summary of his present status with age equivalents:
Gross/Fine Motor Skills: 26 months
Self-Help/Adaptive Skills: 16 months
Social/Emotional Skills: 18 months
Academic/Cognitive: 17 months
Receptive and Expressive Communication: 13 months

They have recommended that he have a comprehensive hearing test done at All Children's here in Sarasota and that he begin speech therapy after that.

Good luck with everything. We went through everything with Trace and Austin, we had multiple hearing tests and then a year of speech for Trace and we are going on 3 years of speech for Austin and now he is on OT as well for the next year or so. It seemed like such a slow process , but looking back it was so amazing the progress they made. Where are you thinking of taking him for speech? If you have any question or anything, feel free to ask.

I didn't know that about your boys! Luke's speech therapy will be done here at the house - she comes to us.

Thanks for the support!
