tonight
Tonight we went to check on both our sweet children and kiss them and tuck them in one more time before we went to bed and saw this. Luke had taken all of his favorite things to bed with him: football, the airplane he painted, a firetruck, a Santa hat and his astronaut/pilot jumpsuit. So precious, we love our Luke!

Riding the Pedal Bike!
Today while Daddy was getting things together for a special Father/Son Day (a trip to Outdoor World with Grandpa!) Luke announced that he was going to ride his pedal bike. This bike was a birthday present, and while he has played with it on and off he had not ridden it on his own and still preferred his Strider bike most of the time.

Luke's Birthday Celebration Part 1
Luke,
You are three! Daddy has been working really hard lately to finish medic school while still working for the Fire Department and the Hospital, so we celebrated your birthday for a whole month! The first thing we did was to make sure your biggest wish came true, to touch an airplane. Right when you woke up in the morning there was a card, a fabulous apple, and your birthday crown. We had a great breakfast, then followed the directions on the card to the Florida Air Museum. Right out front was a great big plane that Daddy lifted you right up to touch:
Then you ran in
to see lots more airplanes!

This was a kit plane that we climbed into together, you showed us how to make the flaps go up and down and then after we explored some more we hiked out to the other side to look at the big planes in the hanger.

This jet was your favorite:
And then we sat out by the runway and had a picnic, watching airplanes and helicopters land and take off.
After lunch we went to the gift shop and found a little jet just like the big one you liked so much to bring home with us.
p.s. Yes, you gave your sister her first shiner ~ you threw a little toy pony at her and this is what she looked like a week later.

Paynes Prairie
Kelsea thought it would be fun to run instead of riding back in the trailer. I thought so too, then after about ten steps remembered I had a cold and wanted to be carried.
