My First Hockey Game!

I went to see my first Lightning game with Grandma Miles, Uncle James, Uncle Rich and Mommy! I loved the bright lights and watching the players skate around
But was not so much a fan of the loud cheering
Uncle James made sure I was entertained during breaks in play

Grandma might be looking at the camera but I'M watching the game...

She thought she could sleep in...

Mom thought she could sleep in a bit because Daddy was home.
But I was hungry (this picture is after my breakfast, observe belly!) so I woke her up
and then promptly fell back asleep
Kelsea and Jacob sensed the peaceful morning and joined us - 7:35am

I'm two months old

I'm two months old! Today I went to Dr. Sevilla for my checkup, he says I am growing great but that we need to watch my development closely because my muscle tone is a bit low. So instead of my next checkup being at four months it will be at three, and I might go on the wait list at Early Steps for an evaluation, Mom and Dad haven't decided about that yet.

Note from Mom and Dad on Christmas

This is for those of you who have asked what (we want for) the kids for Christmas so here goes:

Please help us in raising children who know what this holiday is really about. Help us to balance the wants with the needs and present them with what will help them to grow in a way we would want them to go. Let’s bring in toys that are responsible – even in this small way our monies will shape their future, both in where the money goes and what it brings home to them.

Some Ideas:

-Cotton clothes, practical for playing in, Luke in sizes 9M and up and Kelsea in size 4T.
-Books! Or Magazines like “Ladybug”, “Wild Animal Baby” or “Little Kids National Geographic”
-Things we can do as a family like: Annual State Park Pass, Gift certificate for Splatters
-Classes we can take them to: Infant Massage (www.integrativetouch.com), YMCA Parent/Child Swimming or Tumble Tikes (www.sarasota-ymca.org)
-Waldorf or Montessori style toys – toys that are real things (musical instruments, gardening tools, art supplies) or that encourage creative play (play food/dishes, cloth baby doll, wooden blocks and cars).

These websites are great for ideas: http://www.willowtreetoys.com/, www.threesisterstoys.com, www.earthchildonline.com. Most of them will allow you to type in to search “Made in USA”, “Waldorf”, “Sustainable made” or whatever other qualifier you are looking for.
Locally Toy Lab, Funtoysia, and Learning Express all carry these types of toys.

And to avoid as much as possible: Batteries, Magnets, “Made in China”!

Much Love and Wishes for a Merry Christmas!

Just so you know

Note from Mom:
It might be a little while before we have new pictures again. Kelsea was playing with the camera and dropped it on the tile floor, breaking the piece of plastic that holds the batteries in. Tape isn't working, so until we get it fixed or get a new camera it might be a little plain around here.

Things that have happened without pictures: Luke's first Sunday at Church, Kelsea pushing Jacob all over the house in the recycling bin, and both of them helping us to try out all sorts of vehicles as we shop for the new family car (as the Explorer really must go).

I'll keep things updated as best I can, and hopefully it won't be long.

Birth Reunion!

Today was Luke's Birth Reunion - we got to meet the babies born to our friends from the childbirth classes at Rosemary Birthing Home.
It's not easy to take a picture of 11 babies at once! (Mommy is laughing at Harmony taking a picture of the baby papparazzi)
